This past Saturday, August 17th, Compassion Planet hosted the annual Boots & BBQ event at Gold Hill Gardens in Newcastle, bringing together a community dedicated to making a difference in the lives of local at-risk and aged-out foster youth. The event, set against a backdrop of beautiful weather and a stunning venue, was filled with purpose and passion as attendees gathered to support a cause that truly matters.
The night featured a BBQ dinner, lively conversations, and an impactful live auction. One of the highlights was the Fund-A-Need drive aimed at purchasing a tractor for Compassion Ranch—a key initiative that will expand the opportunities for youth to learn essential trade skills, preparing them for future employment and independence.
Every dollar raised during the evening will go directly towards Compassion Planet’s Mentoring Program, which empowers youth through workforce development, mental health coaching, and life skills training. These programs are crucial in helping young people overcome challenges and achieve brighter futures.
